Plumber

As a Plumber you will be responsible for performing installation and maintenance tasks related to facility and life support plumbing systems and equipment, as well as assisting other CMS staff with construction and maintenance related projects. To succeed, you will need to be a self-motivated team player and possess great communication skills including the ability to interact with co-workers and guests daily.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Performs preventive maintenance on facility and aquatic LSS plumbing and equipment.
  2. Performs new installations and repairs of facility and aquatic LSS plumbing and equipment.
  3. Performs cutting, brazing and soldering tasks.
  4. Performs work in a manner that fosters the Aquarium's mission and reflects its core values and service standards
  5. Stay current on all required safety training
  6. Maintains plumbing related equipment parts inventory
  7. Interacts with vendors and sub contractors
  8. Maintains and stores welding and cutting equipment to meet state and federal safety

Key Requirements 

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of plumbing apprenticeship, trade school or military technical training equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a journeyman plumber
  • Driver's license with a good driving record
  • City of Chattanooga Journeyman Plumbers License preferred

Preferred Skills:

       -Previous experience with aquatic life support system installations

       -Proven expertise in pump and motor alignment

       -Experience with PVC welding, such as piping, fittings and plate

       -Proven expertise with metal arc, TIG and/or MIG welding

       -Experience with the installation of large PVC/fiberglass piping installations (8" and larger)

       -Experience in facility fire protection piping and equipment

 

 

Full-time, hourly; must be able to work weekends and shift work as needed

$19.23-$23.08; pay commensurate with experience
